I’ve been terribly neglectful of this blog.  Shame on me. I vowed to be so diligent with keeping it up!  What better way to say I’m SORRY than some dark chocolatey goodness?  

I made this cake last week for my friend Will’s birthday.  I had been staring at an inspiration for it on my Pinterest board for WEEKS, and my busy schedule just wouldn’t let me selfishly make it for no reason.  So thank you Billiam!…for having fantastic timing on your birth!  

Double layer devil’s food cake with dark chocolate ganache (made a little too runny, I think) and freshly cut strawberries.

A few friends and I ventured over to the Mokulua islands off the coast of east oahu for the holiday.  Some drinks, a small hike, cliff diving and cove swimming.  Followed by good ole pizza, fireworks and lots of laughs!  T’was a great day to celebrate our freedom.  Happy Independence Day!
