When it comes to themed parties, my friends and I don’t mess around. This was our take on a MADMEN night of manhattans and gimlets, argyle sweaters, thick-rimmed spectacles, yellow taxicabs, politically [in]correct jokes, an excellent prime roast BEAST, a table scape to gaga over, endless stories, laughs and beautiful people. Can’t get any better...

My take on a Spiced Chocolate Torte, from the holiday edition of Bon Appetit 2010. I actually made this for a Thanksgiving get-together (I couldn’t wait) so that is fresh fall flowers adorning the ganache.
